Privacy Policy — AI Study Scan Agent

This Privacy Policy explains how AI Study Scan Agent (the “App”, package com.aistudyscanner.agent) collects, uses, and protects your information. The App is an AI-powered study helper for students. By creating an account and using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

The App is operated by the developer of AI Study Scan Agent. For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at dinesh.yedla333@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Mobile phone number (entered by you at registration)	As account/contact information associated with your registration.
Google account identifier (Firebase user ID)	To maintain your account across sessions and devices.
Push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging)	To deliver the daily UPSC current-affairs notifications you opt in to.
Content you submit (question text/images you scan or type, homework topics)	To generate AI answers and practice questions. Images are processed on your device for text recognition; the extracted text is sent to our service.
Usage counts (e.g. number of questions per day)	To enforce fair-use limits.
Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID, via Google AdMob)	To show the optional rewarded ads that grant extra daily questions, to measure ad performance, and to limit how often the same ad is repeated. See “Advertising” below.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not collect precise location, contacts, or financial information.

3. How your information is used

To create and manage your registered account.
To answer your study questions and generate practice material using AI.
To send the daily current-affairs notifications you choose to receive.
To operate, secure, and improve the App.

4. Service providers and processors

We share limited data with trusted providers strictly to operate the App:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging) — account sign-in, storing your subscription/profile, and delivering notifications.
Groq — processes the question/topic text you submit to generate AI answers. Do not include sensitive personal data in your questions.
Hosting provider (Render) — runs our backend service.
Sentry — collects anonymized crash/error diagnostics to improve stability.
Google AdMob — serves the optional rewarded ads and receives your device’s Advertising ID for ad selection, frequency capping, and measurement.

5. Advertising

The App shows rewarded ads only. They are never forced: an ad appears only when you have used up your free questions for the day and you tap the button to watch one in exchange for extra questions. There are no banner or pop-up ads.

Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which uses your device’s Advertising ID. You stay in control of it:

Reset or delete your Advertising ID under Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device.
Turn on Opt out of Ads Personalisation in the same screen to receive only non-personalised ads.

Pro subscribers see no ads at all. On a Pro device the advertising SDK is never started, so no Advertising ID is collected or shared with AdMob.

5a. Subscriptions

Pro is an optional paid subscription billed through Google Play. Google processes the payment — the App never sees or stores your card details, and no payment information is sent to our servers. We receive only whether your subscription is currently active, which is what unlocks unlimited use. Manage or cancel at any time in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions.

The questions and images you submit are never shared with AdMob or used to target ads.

6. Data retention

We retain your account information (email, phone, user ID) and subscription settings for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your rights”). Submitted question content is processed to produce an answer and is not used to build an advertising profile.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, including deletion of your account, by emailing dinesh.yedla333@gmail.com. You can also turn off notifications at any time from within the App or your device settings.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and above. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, Google-managed authentication) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
